Comments about Electro-Harmonix Bass MicroSynth Effects Pedal: This effect pedal has some very interesting sounds and capabilities, but did not fit my playing style at all. In the voice mix, the sub octave sounds superb, its clean and lightly distorted with this pedal's signature 'synthy' sound.

The guitar is just your dry signal, so no problems there. The octave, in my opinion, doesn't quite sound like an octave above what I play and has a bit too much distortion and treble. The square wave 'synth distortion' sounds cool but only comes in one tone (an equalizer for the distortion would have been appreciated).

The attack delay sounds like a subtle volume pedal which is ok if you play it for slow parts. The filter sweep as a whole was not what I expected. I wanted to be able to play Tom Sawyeresque synth decay, but the sweep was too plain and weak. The rate switch annoyed me. Put it past 5 sometimes and you get nothing but silence out of the pedal.

Trigger is fine but don't put it to max a lot, it 'stutters'. The thing that bothered me the most was an internal noise gate that mutes everything, clean and effect, after your instrument reaches a low enough volume or if your attack softens.

It can be internally adjusted, but even on the lowest setting, the pedal cut me off sporadically, especially when playing faster passages. Overall, the pedal has some cool sounds, but it just seems gimmicky to me.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Bass MicroSynth Effects Pedal: It's a great pedal in all and can have many different sounds, for example, the attack is fun to mess with. It's built well with exception for the input/output jacks, one broke on me literally the first time plugging it up.

Other than that, it was built well. Maybe mine was just faulty. Regardless, I will say that if you're not into experimental (trippy) sounds, then this pedal is not for you. I bought if for the octave and square wave ('distortion') mainly but using it for either of those purposes alone doesn't give you the best results and I would recommend a separate pedal for each of those sounds. It is not practical for my band's music but for recording and/or experimenting I would recommend it if you're trying to create some new sounds. It's definitely a fun pedal but for me, that's all it was: just a bit of fun.
