I always download Dial-a-fix and run it right away and I have un-installed MBAM then re-installed it and it seems that the failure is unpredictable and sometimes won't happen all the time the system is booted up. I don't know if this has anything to do with what I am seeing but sometimes the Taskbar develops an unusual transparency and the Desktop can be seen around the right end of the active tasks and when I go to start then Turn Off Computer the window with the 3 choices does not show up so I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up Task Manager and chose Shut Down Restart. It is no big deal and I can live with it as I am going to replace it with a Vista system at the end of this month. Thanks for your time and patience.
